Temp-to-Hire Assistant Copywriter

The Assistant Copywriter will write product descriptions for multiple brands, platforms, and mediums to ensure product copy is accurate and consistent.


  • Write, edit, and proof e-commerce product page content including, but not limited to, short descriptions (i.e. bulleted or abbreviated descriptions to accommodate page layout designs), long descriptions, enhanced product content (Amazon A+), banner, web page, meta descriptions, meta keywords, and title tags. May also be tasked with creating social media content
  • Understand business requirements, analyze user and business needs, inventory existing content, and follow content standards set by client
  • Understand how to produce content optimized for retailer page layouts and requirements.
  • Optimize content using current SEO best practices
  • Leverage web analytics, customer insights, and user feedback to assess content effectiveness and recommend solutions to address gaps and shortcomings
  • Maintain content standards, including governance of content
  • Understand and develop compliant copy for products with regulatory implications or impact
  • Special projects as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field such as Journalism, English, Communications or Apparel Design
  • Deep understanding of fashion terminology and techniques—former background in design is a plus
  • Displays a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask independently
  • Collaborative spirit with an ability to work independently
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Problem solving skills with an ability to discern when an issue needs elevation
  • Adept at learning new business facets to produce adequate deliverables
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and design teams
